CM raises Sardar Sarovar Dam issue with Prime Minister
Shri Modi raises issue of gas prices with the Prime Minister. Says Gujarat should get gas at the same rate as Delhi and Mumba
On the morning of Wednesday 6th February 2013 Shri Narendra Modi met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi. Shri Modi described the meeting as a very good one and added that the Prime Minister congratulated him on forming the Government for the 4thconsecutive time. Shri Modi said that he submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and discussed pending projects with the Prime Minister.
Shri Modi raised the issue of the Sardar Sarovar Dam with the Prime Minister. He also raised the issue of gas prices with the Prime Minister. “The prices at which Delhi gets gas, Gujarat does not. We went to Court and won but it has been 6 months and the Centre has not been adhering to the guidelines. We gave a contempt petition as well” and added, “Gujarat should get gas on the same rate as Delhi and Mumbai. The Centre went to the Supreme Court as well to delay. I expressed my unhappiness.”
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister assured him that he will look into these issues and will extend all help possible.
Shri Modi is in New Delhi to deliver the Shri Ram Memorial Oration at Delhi University’s prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). Shri Modi was invited as the speaker to deliver this oration after 80% of the youngsters expressed their preference to hear Shri Modi over other speakers including Cabinet Ministers and captains of industry.
